Hello and welcome to my Dreamwidth.
I am Ione, or Nonie - a 40 year old queer woman living in Suffolk, England with my long-term partner Alice and our three cats Albert, Isaac and Stephen.
A local government paper pusher by day and a sci-fi geek by night, I'm usually found curled up in a sunbeam, with a mug of tea, a good book and a cat purring on my lap.
I also enjoy cozy gaming - Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley etc. I think it's contractually obliged for me as a millennial female! I've been playing various Nintendo consoles since the 90s and am incredibly competitive, especially when it comes to Mario Kart.
I love science - I love the process of experimentation, finding things out. I enjoy things like baking soda volcanoes, science (and other) museums, dinosaurs, shiny rocks, outer space, volcanoes and earthquakes.
Unfortunately, I'm also utterly terrible at it so when combined with have dyscalculia, it wasn't something I was able to pursue as a career. But it hasn't dampened my love for it.
I'm passionate about self-care, self-expression and self-growth, about learning who you are, embracing who you are and being who you are. I love bright colours, wear dungarees, have a great collection of fidget toys because I have to be doing something with my hands, cover everything in glitter, Halloween is a lifestyle, I still wear mood rings, read tarot and my horoscope, and live in stompy boots. Life is too short to try and be who/what society expects you to be.
Live long and prosper!
